Google Business Profile and the site name the same job.
The profile website field, the primary category, and the service page should name the same job in San Diego. Maps should not show emergency AC while the homepage says Welcome. Based in San Diego, California.
Method mock — not a screenshot of a live listing. No invented rating. Same offer language as local SEO.
The alignment
Category, services, website field, then a defensible area.
01
Primary category is the job you sell
The profile category should be the work, not a vanity label. HVAC contractor if you repair AC. Dentist if you take new patients.
02
Services on the profile match offer URLs
If the profile lists emergency AC, the site has /emergency-ac-repair/. Maps and the page should not name two different jobs.
03
Website field can land on the offer URL
When the searcher came for that job, the website field should be able to open the lander — not only a homepage dump.
04
Service area stays at city level you serve
San Diego, plus areas you actually work and can defend on a page. Stuffed neighborhoods do not help the profile or the site.
This sits next to local SEO and the Position phase of how we work. Clinics and trades use the same rule: one job, one URL.
Not this
Maps says one offer. The homepage says another.
A profile that lists five categories with one Welcome URL is the same leak as a leftover theme. The click still has nowhere specific to land.
You keep
- The Google account. Owner stays you. We are a manager.
- Photos and reviews. Real ones. We will not invent them.
- The offer URL. Same path paid and organic can use.

FAQ
Before the first call
Local SEO as a lane: search. Remote vs San Diego: home. Who owns the accounts: how we work.
01
Should the profile website go to the homepage or the offer URL?
The URL that finishes the job the searcher saw. If they found you for emergency AC, the website field should be able to land on that offer path — not a homepage doing five jobs.
02
Do we need a page for every Maps category?
No. Pages for jobs you sell. Extra categories without a URL is how Maps and the site disagree.
03
Can we list every San Diego neighborhood on the profile?
No. City-level, plus areas you actually serve. Neighborhood stuffing does not make the profile or the pages more honest.
04
Who manages the Google login?
You own the Business Profile. We work as a manager. We will not transfer ownership away from you.
